About Us

Since its opening in 2018, Produce Marketplace, located at 519 St. Clair Ave., has served as Clairton’s neighborhood grocery store focused on healthy and local foods.

A program of Mon Valley Initiative, Produce Marketplace was created in direct response to residents’ concerns over the lack of fresh food access in Clairton following the closure of its last supermarket over 15 years ago. Access to fresh food is an essential component of individual and community health, and the store provides an alternative to prepackaged, processed foods from convenience and dollar stores in the area.

Not only does the marketplace have fresh fruits and vegetables – it also has deli meats and cheeses, dairy products, bread, and more. If you don’t see something you need, ask!

Produce Marketplace accepts debit and credit cards, checks, EBT/SNAP and cash. It also participates in the Food Bucks program through the Food Trust, which provides coupons for free fresh fruits and vegetables earned through SNAP transactions or distributed by participating healthcare providers. There is also a Free Table at the rear of the store with donated goods for anyone to take.
